"Trekkah is sounding fantastic" - Huw Stephens BBC Radio •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• 'The Enlightening' is a collaborative album featuring a range of resonating instrumentation and electronic sounds, featuring vocalists from around the world. The content focuses on an array of contrasting sounds and the effects they can have on body and mind. Curating artistic expression and response, the producer has collaborated with a range of instrumentalists, vocalists, spoken word artists, videographers, visual artists and holistic therapists; exploring the ancient eastern practice of the Chakras, using its philosophy, motif and tuning to conceptualise and create a beautifully articulate 14-track album. The Chakras, an ancient Indian practice that comes from the Vedic Scriptures dating back to around 1500-500BC, means the wheel of life. The Chakras focus on moving energy through the body and have been used in yoga sutras and other holistic therapies since 200 BC. Each Chakra has a different frequency and the practice is seen as a the journey through life, where from birth we begin to work through each Chakra with the ambition of balancing all, allowing energy to flow through each and through the body. "I'm excited for everyone to hear the material that I've been focused on so intensely over the last year and a half. I'm immensely proud of what everyone involved has achieved, and honoured to work with such a productive range of artists who continue to inspire me. The material features a range of instruments: flute; didgeridoo; sitar; sax; percussion; and 14 vocalists that contrast in a range of styles and languages" - Trekkah •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• The ambition of the launch is to create unique sonic and visual environments using the Chakras as the artistic stimulus. Showcasing the 14 productions in ascending order, the show will take the viewer on a journey through the album using sounds, visual projections, and other stimulae to heighten the sensory experience. Each Chakra will contains its own unique tuning frequency, colour and conceptual detail, with performances from both female and male vocalists to represent the yin-yang balance. The productions have been written in collaboration with the producer and a number of vocalists and musicians, experimenting with a range of worldly musical instruments designed for strong resonate frequencies. "I want to take the audience on a journey through the Chakra environments from the Root to the Crown using narrative, soundscapes and visual projections to enhance each stage" - Trekkah •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• The future plan for the work is to facilitate a series of open-access music-making and yoga workshops, specifically targeted at members of the community who would not usually engage in this type of experience. Trekkah has submitted a bid that with will allow these participants to take part in every stage of production – beat writing, instrumental composition, studio recording, song writing, mixing / mastering and through to videography, creating their own response back to the producer that will act as the 15th track of the entire work, entitled 'The Enlightening' "I'm very interested in sound and the effects it has on our bodies, especially with the aid of other sensory mediums such as sight, touch and smell. I have found that working with limitations and boundaries set within this concept I have been more creative and produced some of the strongest material I've ever worked on" - Trekkah •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Check out the pre-release singles from 'The Enlightening': 'Slowly Fading' feat.
